
Grant Slater carries with him over 25 years of experience in the music business, which has taken him throughout North America and Europe during his illustrious career as a pianist, composer and performer.
Performing on some of the most respectable stages in the world, Grant has played at the always revered Carnegie Hall in NYC, renowned Massey Hall in Toronto and The Kennedy Centre in Washington DC. His long run of credentials include accompanying many great and diverse musical artists such as: Etta James, David Clayton-Thomas, Martha Reeves, Colm Wilkinson, Long John Baldry, Petula Clark, Matt Dusk, Natalie MacMaster, Denny Doherty, Jackie Richardson, Robert Pilon, Carol Welsman and Alfie Zappacosta to name a few.
Grant has been able to use his creativity and talent in music to succeed in an eclectic range of performances. This has allowed him to work with renowned Canadian children’s entertainers Sharon Lois & Bram as their musical director of touring shows for nearly 20 years. Another notable aspect of his career was playing with the musical orchestra for the Toronto production of “Hairspray” , as an alternate for keyboard two at the Princess of Wales theatre throughout 2004.
In addition to his performing experiences, Grant has received a Juno Award for the album entitled “The Rugrats” in which he co-wrote the music.
For the past 8 years Grant has been concentrating on work and musical production with his own band, named after the artist himself, “The Grant Slater Band”. This is a very versatile band that can play a variety of styles and genres to suit any function such as corporate events, cocktail parties, award shows, weddings, house parties.…the works. His band can be virtually any size to fit the occasion, location and budget. Many requests can be performed and preferences made to please everybody. Grant's band has provided entertainment for companies such as: Ford Motor Co., BMO Financial Group, Ingram Micro, TD Bank Canada Trust, Liquor Control Board of Ontario, Toshiba, Eli Lilly, COSA (cosmetics outstanding service award), Ontario Teachers Pension Fund, Accucom Inc., Alzheimer's Society and the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.
